Button puzzled by lack of pace in qualifying

Jenson Button had high expectations in qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Saturday and as a result couldn’t explain why he qualified in sixth place, with a wide gap to the pole position time. McLaren teammate Lewis Hamilton clinched pole while Button was nearly seven-tenths off the pace with the 2009 world champion comprehensively beaten by Hamilton in all the three legs of qualifying, mystifying the driver. “I shouldn’t really be starting this far back.
