Slim: Gutierrez will race for Sauber
Mexican billionaire and Sauber sponsor Carlos Slim has all but announced Esteban Gutierrez as the team's second driver for next season.
With Sergio Perez on his way to McLaren next season, it came as welcome news when Sauber announced a week later that Telmex, which is owned by Mexican billionaire Slim, would continue sponsoring the team.
That financial backing, though, comes with strings attached as the 72-year-old has made it clear that Sauber will promote their Mexican test driver Gutierrez.
"We are talking with Sauber for next season," GMM quoted Slim as having told Mexican newspaper Reforma, "and we intend to continue together.
