F1 to get new chief doctor in 2013
Gary Hartstein leaves the role after seven years as chief doctor Sutton Images Enlarge Formula One will have a new chief doctor in 2013 after the FIA decided not to renew the contract of Gary Hartstein. Hartstein has worked in Formula One since 1997 and replaced the late Sid Watkins as chief doctor in 2005, working at every grands prix since. However, Hartstein revealed on Twitter that he had been informed he would not be kept on in the role past the end of the current season.
