FIA to restrict use of DRS from 2013
Formula 1 governing body the FIA will restrict the use of the Drag Reduction System (DRS) from the 2013 season onwards, meaning drivers will only be able to deploy the device during the designated zones for all practice, qualifying and race session. The use of the system has been unlimited in free practice and qualifying since it was introduced to the sport back in 2011, while a restricted zone has been in place on race day. However, under the new ruling which has been decided due to 'safety reasons', the specific deployment areas will now be adhered to for a full Grand Prix weekend.
