Vettel on top in final practice
By Editor on Saturday, November 17, 2012 Sebastian Vettel set the fastest time in final practice ahead of the United States Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton was second fastest, ahead of Pastor Maldonado and Fernando Alonso.
There was a bizarre moment twenty minutes into the session when Sergio Perez made contact with Charles Pic.
Perez came from behind and hit Pic at Turn 7, sending the Frenchman spinning into the run off.
Jean Eric Vergne stopped out on track with 25 minutes remaining with the wheels on his STR7 pointing inwards. Replays were inconclusive, but Toro Rosso suspect that Vergne hit a kerb too hard, causing damage to his car and forcing him to pull off at Turn 6.
