Pérez thanks Mexican spectators for support

Sergio Pérez has sent out a special ‘thank you’ message to thousands of Mexican fans who have made the pilgrimage to Austin to watch the Sauber driver in action. Texas’ Circuit of the Americas is located around 250 miles from the boarder of his home nation. 82,710 spectators turned up at the track on Saturday and a sizeable 40 percent are believed to have been from Mexico, which is yet to host a race of its own since 1992. “I want to thank all the people in the grandstands and especially all the Mexicans, who sacrificed time and money to travel to Austin and buy tickets,” says Pérez, who starts this afternoon’s race from 15th position....
