Lotus lands Coca-Cola backing

Lotus F1 is to be backed by Coca-Cola's 'burn' energy brand in a multi-year deal that will start at the beginning of next year. Coca-Cola is the world's largest beverage company with over 500 sparkling and still brands. Lotus has made the most significant step forward in performance in 2012, pushing Ferrari and McLaren for runner-up spot behind Red Bull Racing in the constructors' championship for much of the season. The announcement is timely, however, against a recent backdrop oflate staff-payment rumours.
