Consistent Senna anticipated to be replaced
Bruno Senna departed from Williams acknowledging that his axe from the British team was inevitable, but the Brazilian was satisfied with his season nevertheless. Test and reserve driver Valtteri Bottas was named as a replacement for the Brazilian for next season, a decision which Senna was prepared for as he had to share the car with the Finn in 15 practice sessions “as a part of his preparation for a likely debut in 2013.” The 29-year-old, who finished 16th in the drivers’ standings 14 points behind teammate Pastor Maldonado, said that it was “extremely satisfying to be the team’s most regular point scorer” despite the handicap.
