Williams confirms Gillan departure

Williams has confirmed the departure of chief operations engineer Mark Gillan after the 2012 F1 season.Gillan had played a major role in Williams' return to winning ways this season after a difficult season last year – where the team managed to score just five points.Although the team only managed to improve by one place in the constructors' championship this season, ending the year in eighth spot, Pastor Maldonado secured the team's first win in eight years with his success in Spain.In total, the Venezuelan picked up 45 points from the season, with 31 from team-mate Bruno Senna ensuring an improvement of 71 over the 2011 season.Gillan's decision to leave the team comes with his wanting...
