Mercedes to launch on February 4
Mercedes will launch its 2013 car - the W04 - on February 4 at Jerez. With the first test starting on February 5 at the circuit, Mercedes is the first team to confirm a low-key launch in Jerez ahead of the start of testing. It also marks a change from 2012 for Mercedes as it launched the W03 in time for the second pre-season test, instead running its 2011 car at the first test of the year. The Mercedes launch follows those by McLaren (Jan 31), Force India, Ferrari (Feb 1), Sauber (Feb 2) and Red Bull (Feb 3). The W04 will be unveiled by both Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, but the team has yet to confirm who will drive the car first during the opening test.
