Alonso calls for less races and more testing

18 January, 2013 Fernando Alonso has added his voice to growing calls for more Formula 1 testing, while lamenting the length of the 20 race season. Speaking to media during the Wrooom event at Madonna di Campiglio, the 2012 world championship runner-up said, “Last year we had the last Grand Prix at the end of November and almost right up to Christmas, there were events I had to take part in. There’s almost only the end of year holiday when one can have a break and I’ll try to fit in a few more days between now and Melbourne to recharge my batteries.'
