Scorpion Racing bid 'too late' for 2013
Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has played down the chances of a new HRT takeover bid gaining an entry for 2013 campaign, with the 82-year-old stating that the plans have come too long after the registration cut-off point to be viable. It has emerged that a group of American and Canadian investors are attempting to acquire the cars and equipment used by the defunct HRT outfit in 2012, before entering the sport under the name of Scorpion Racing. However, Ecclestone says the proposed team is better off delaying its Formula 1 birth until the 2014 campaign.
