van der Garde secures Caterham drive
Giedo van der Garde is to drive for the Caterham F1 team this year, it has been announced.The 27-year-old has been in the frame to partner Charles Pic since the 2012 season ended, but he had to wait until today to get confirmation that he will become the first Dutch driver in F1 since Christijan Albers in 2007.“I am absolutely delighted to confirm that I will be racing in the 2013 F1 World Championship with Caterham F1 Team,” said the GP2 race winner, who last year's was the team's reserve driver, taking in six FP1 practice sessions. “I want to thank everyone who has worked so hard to make this happen.“I know I am ready to take the step up to F1 and all the work I have done...
