Hamilton crashes car in testing
Lewis Hamilton's first day of testing for his new Mercedes team got off to a bad start when he crashed the car after just 15 laps in Jerez, Spain. Hamilton had just set the second fastest time of the day when he slid into the barriers at the hairpin at the end of the back straight. He was unhurt after ploughing across a gravel trap into a tyre wall. Mercedes had a troubled first day on Tuesday when the car caught fire after 11 laps with Nico Rosberg at the wheel.
