Tim Goss named McLaren Technical Director

McLaren-Mercedes has announced that Tim Goss has been named McLaren's Technical Director, with immediate effect. After growing speculation that McLaren's current Technical Director Paddy Lowe is leaving the team to join Mercedes GP, sources are now confirming that a deal has been done, leading to the appointment of Goss this afternoon. Lowe will be put on 'gardening leave' until his current McLaren contract expires at the end of the year. Goss joined McLaren as a development engineer and was appointed Director of Engineering in January of 2011.
