Marussia expects to switch engine supplier

Marussia is expecting to switch its engine supplier for the 2014 Formula 1 campaign, with the outfit's Sporting Director, Graeme Lowdon, holding the belief that current partner Cosworth will not venture into the new 1.6-litre V6 turbocharged era. Following HRT's demise at the end of 2012, Marussia is now the only Cosworth-powered squad on the grid. If Lowdon's notion becomes a reality, the Banbury-based team will be required to secure an engine deal with Ferrari, Mercedes or Renault.
