Lotus technical director James Allison talks exhaust map regulations and the 'DDRS' system.
Q. What are your thoughts on the current debate concerning engine maps?JA: "As far as I'm concerned the situation was clear at the beginning and it's clear now. It's our responsibility as a team to stay within the rules, but at the same time to push the limits as far as possible; to do otherwise is to needlessly throw away performance. There are a set of rules governing engine maps and Renault have been exploring the boundaries of these in the same way as any other engine manufacturer.
