Schumacher withdraws from karting event
"true">Michael Schumacher withdrew from this weekend's WSK Euro Series season-opener at the La Conca Circuit in Italy, having initially planned to take part in the KZ1 category. The seven-time Formula 1 World Champion, who was part of a five-strong Tony Kart entry, took the decision to sit out after Thursday and Friday's practice sessions. As the weekend wore on, Dutch karter Max Verstappen, the son of ex-Formula 1 racer Jos, enjoyed the most success by picking up two victories and a seventh place finish.
