Unlike McLaren, Mercedes to let Hamilton keep trophies

Lewis Hamilton will finally be able to keep the trophies that he gets when he steps on the podium – if and when he does for his new team. Having left McLaren, the Briton has stepped into a new environment at Mercedes where the driver is not required to hand over their helmets and trophies, as has been traditionally done at the Woking-based outfit. “The question is, do we get trophies?” Hamilton laughed referring to the German manufacturer’s results since 2010 which has seen it win just once. “Great, I get to keep my trophies, oh shoot, I don’t have any. “It was a small thing, but small things matter, like my helmets,” he was quoted saying by...
