'Mercedes has a bright future' – Fry

Following the announcement that he is to step down as the CEO of the Mercedes Formula 1 team, Nick Fry says he is ‘extremely proud’ of his achievements during his time with the Brackley-based outfit and is adamant that it has a strong future. Fry, who will continue as a consultant until at least the end of 2014, became a firm member of the Formula 1 paddock when he joined BAR back in 2002. Alongside current Mercedes Team Principal Ross Brawn, the 56-year-old played a key role in the creation of Brawn GP in 2009, following Honda’s withdrawal from the sport.
