Allison set to leave Lotus

Technical director James Allison is on his way out of Lotus and is expected to join one of their rivals, according to reports. Allison started his Formula One career with the squad way back 1991 when they still raced under the Benetton guise, but he also had a five-year spell with Ferrari from 2000 before returning to Enstone in 2005. He assumed his current role of technical director in 2009 and Lotus have made steady progress in recent years, finishing fifth last season and finding themselves second in the Constructors' Championship after four races so far this year.
