Lauda rules out signing Vettel
Niki Lauda has ruled out Mercedes trying to sign Sebastian Vettel as they already have the "best" driver pairing.
Recent reports suggested that Mercedes were interested in signing Vettel to partner Lewis Hamilton at the Brackley-based outfit.
However, Lauda, Mercedes' non-executive chairman, insists the German team are happy with the status quo.
"Forget it," he told Austrian newspaper, Osterreich.
"We are not trying to get him [Vettel], as he has signed a contract with Red Bull until forever.
"With Hamilton and Nico Rosberg we already have the best driver pairing. The two push each other forward positively.
