Ferrari's Fry undergoes surgery for appendicitis
Ferrari technical director Pat Fry will miss the Spanish Grand Prix after being taken to hospital suffering from appendicitis. Fry was admitted to hospital on Saturday after seeing the Ferrari team doctor complaining of pain in his abdomen. While it was initially thought to be kidney stones, Fry was later diagnosed with appendicitis and was due to have surgery on Saturday afternoon to have his appendix removed. Team principal Stefano Domenicali said after the conclusion of qualifying that the team hoped to see Fry back soon.
