Lawyers: Bernie never committed bribery
Lawyers for Bernie Ecclestone maintain the F1 supremo is innocent after news broke that he is facing charges in Germany relating to a bribery case.
Earlier this week, German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported that "Munich prosecutor has filed charges against Bernie Ecclestone" in relationship to the F1 bribery scandal.
The 82-year-old is set to be charged with "bribing a public official" as well as "abetting breach of fiduciary duty."
However, Ecclestone's lawyers insist he never bribed former BayernLB banker Gerhard Gribkowsky during the sale of Formula One to CVC, the private equity investor that owns most of the sport.
