Button surprised by long run pace
Jenson Button has revealed his surprise at strongly emerging long run pace of his McLaren MP4-28 after the two Thursday practice sessions.
The Brit finished both sessions in eighth place, completing 69 laps over the 180 minutes of running. Despite struggling for tyre temperature in the morning session, he is feeling confident ahead of this weekends race.
Speaking in a post-practice statement, Button said 'We struggled in the morning when the circuit was still fairly ‘green’ – we couldn’t get any temperatures into the tyres, but I think that affected everybody, not just us.'
