Van der Garde hails 'career best' moment
Giedo van der Garde described his qualifying performance in Monaco on Saturday as a "career best" moment, with the Caterham driver progressing to the second knockout phase amid damp conditions and ultimately securing 15th position on the grid. With a pre-qualifying shower making for a slippery track surface and Ferrari driver Felipe Massa unable to post a time following his crash in third practice, van der Garde took advantage to give the Leafield-based team its first Q2 appearance of the season.
