F1 2013 – Ferrari downplay their own Pirelli test

Ferrari have downplayed the significance of their own Pirelli test saying it was not against the rules as they used their 2011 season challenger, whereas Mercedes used their current 2013 challenger.A Ferrari spokesman told speed.com 'For a bit more of a year there has been a possibility of performing these so-called 1000 kms tests that Pirelli does for its own tyre development,''For Ferrari it has always been very clear that these tests could not make use of a 2013 car.
