Button: The pace wasn't there
Jenson Button reckons even if he had crossed the line in time he probably would not have made it into Q1 in Canada.
With the afternoon's second segment red flagged with 1:59 on the clock there was a mad dash when the session restarted to get in one flying lap in the wet.
All the drivers lined up at the end of the pit lane with Button one of the last out. As a result the Brit did not make it in time and finished qualifying in 14th place.
The McLaren driver, though, says even if he had made it, he doubts he could have improved enough to secure a spot in the top-ten shoot-out.
"The team counted me down and I thought 10 seconds was enough, but obviously it wasn't," he said.
