'In-season testing to return'

The ban on in-season testing is set to be lifted next season, all it needs is formal approval from the FIA's World Motor Sport Council. In-season testing was banned in 2009 in a bid to cut the costs of competing in Formula One. Teams, though, had been vocal in their desire to have at least limited testing, resulting in one run at the Mugello circuit during last year's Championship. And although in-season testing was again off the cards this year, it looks set to return in 2014. Six of the teams; Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren, Lotus and Williams; met in Monaco to discuss a problem that would allow eight days of testing.
