Tragedy mars Canadian Grand Prix
The party atmosphere that followed an exciting Canadian Grand Prix was muted by news that a corner worker had succumbed to injuries sustained while clearing up Esteban Gutierrez's stranded Sauber.The FIA confirmed that the marshal, who has yet to be named, was the victim of a freak accident that occurred during the recovery attempt at turn one towards the end of the grand prix.The worker, a member of the Automobile Club de l'Île Notre Dame, was apparently attempting to pick up a dropped radio when he stumbled and was hit by the mobile crane that had already collected Gutierrez's car and was making its way back behind the barrier.
