FIA to send inspectors to Silverstone test
Governing body the FIA will send inspectors to this month's Young Driver Test at Silverstone to ensure that car development work is not carried out by race drivers. The test, taking place from July 17-19, had been scheduled to go ahead as normal with rookie drivers at the wheel. However, in the wake of the tyre blow-outs Pirelli suffered during the British Grand Prix the FIA has opted to permit the use of race drivers, in theory aiding the manufacturer as it bids to find a solution to its problems. An FIA spokesperson confirmed to GPUpdate.net on Tuesday evening that the teams have been made aware of the plans, with an inspector set to assess the programmes of each outfit to make certain...
