Newey predicts cooling challenge in 2014

Red Bull design chief Adrian Newey expects cooling to pose a 'big challenge' to the teams next season, with the sport preparing to enter a new era of techical regulations. In place of V8 engines, turbocharged 1.6-litre V6 units will be introduced, the first modification since 2006. And with the addition of gearbox and aerodynamic changes, Newey believes that managing temperature levels will be a key area of focus. "The new engines need a lot of cooling, because not only have you got the combustion engine, but the turbocharged parts too," Newey told Crash.net.
