Regulation changes well timed for Williams

Claire Williams believes the 2014 regulation changes are well timed for the Williams F1 Team, allowing them to close the gap to those ahead after a dismal 2013 campaign. The Grove-based outfit scored just five points last season, four of which came at the penultimate round in Austin, Texas. It was a hugely disappointing year for the nine-time constructors' champions, but Williams feels the new rules will give the team a chance to move forward. There have been plenty of changes at the team over the past year, with Pat Symonds joining as chief technical officer mid-way through 2013 and Mercedes replacing Renault as their power-unit supplier for this season.
