Williams apologises to Bottas for tyre mix-up

Williams Martini Racing Williams has apologised to Valtteri Bottas after an unusual tyre mix-up resulted in the Finn being handed a drive through penalty during the Belgian Grand Prix. Williams erroneously fitted one Prime tyre and three Option tyres to Bottas' car during his first stop, leading to a drive through penalty, which dropped him down the order. "I am clearly disappointed with what has happened to Valtteri," said head of vehicle performance Rob Smedley. "As a team we have made a mistake, and on behalf of the team I am very sorry that we cost him what could have been a podium position.
