Hamilton storms to German GP win, as Daniel and Max complete podium Defending world champion Lewis Hamilton claimed a commanding German Grand Prix victory to extend his lead in the Formula One drivers' championship ahead of summer break 19 points clear of his teammate Nico Rosberg, who finished at fourth behind the Red Bull duo. Second was Daniel Ricciardo, with Max Verstappen, his Red Bull teammate, third. Another poor start cost Rosberg victory chance, that resulted him in a tight battle with the Red Bull drivers and he was unable to emerge ahead at his final stop, a charge hampered by a five-second penalty for forcing Max Verstappen wide mid-way through the race.
