Tyre failures mar British Grand Prix

Tyre failures have marred the beginning of the British Grand Prix. Race leader Lewis Hamilton suffered a tyre explosion on lap eight of the 52 lap race. Ferrari's Felipe Massa suffered a similar failure at the same point a few laps later. Following those failures on medium tyres, Jean Eric Vergne suffered a tyre failure into Stowe, this time on the hard tyres. The safety car was deployed to retrieve debris.
