Allison to join Mercedes as Technical Director

– Mercedes has announced that acclaimed engineer James Allison is to join the squad in the newly-created role of Technical Director at the start of next month, following the recent departure of Paddy Lowe.Lowe, who is poised to join Williams after serving a period of gardening leave, held the role of Executive Director (Technical) at Mercedes, alongside Executive Director (Business) Toto Wolff.Allison served as Ferrari's Technical Director until last year, having re-joined the team from Renault midway through 2013, but the two parties went their separate ways during the summer.In a statement issued on Thursday morning, Mercedes explained that Allison will "report directly to...
