McLaren confirms Jost Capito departure after only five months

McLaren has confirmed that Jost Capito has left his role as CEO, just five months after he formally started working with the team. McLaren announced the recruitment of Capito in January 2016, though the German’s existing duties with Volkswagen's title-winning WRC team meant he did not officially begin his role until September. However, Capito’s future was thrown into doubt when Ron Dennis was ousted as McLaren’s Chairman towards the end of 2016, with Zak Brown installed as executive director.
