Tost: Kvyat 'deserves to be in F1' despite sacking
Toro Rosso team chief Franz Tost is hopeful that sacked driver Daniil Kvyat can secure a Formula 1 role in the near future, saying the Russian “deserves” to be on the grid. Kvyat was dropped twice through 2017 by Toro Rosso due to a lack of performance, with his final appearance coming at the United States Grand Prix before Brendon Hartley took his seat for the remaining three races of the season. Kvyat was dismissed from the Red Bull motorsport programme altogether after spending the majority of his racing career under its umbrella, and is now considering his options for 2018.
