Pirelli racing director Mario Isola has high hopes for the debut of the new hyper soft compound, but he also argues that it's not just useful for a quick qualifying stint. The Italian tyre manufacturer wants to make races more strategic and more exciting. Still, Isola does concede that a one-stop strategy would be possible with the hyper soft compound bolted on. "The hyper soft is not only a qualifying compound," he told RaceFans.net. "In the race too, the tyre will hold its own. "Our data has shown that the hyper soft lasts long without losing much pace."
