Mercedes take blame over Hamilton 'rookie error'

Mercedes exonerated Lewis Hamilton for the "rookie error" late in the Brazilian Grand Prix which kickstarted a chain of events which would see the Formula 1 world champion miss out on a podium at Interlagos. Hamilton struggled for answers in a battle with Max Verstappen throughout the race and the Dutchman looked to have sealed things when he took advantage of Valtteri Bottas' retirement to fit fresh tyres and then pass Hamilton after the subsequent safety car was called in.
