Jolyon Palmer thinks Max Verstappen was the best driver of 2019 Formula 1 season
Former Formula 1 driver and now columnist Jolyon Palmer believes Max Verstappen was the outstanding driver of the 2019 Formula 1 season, despite Lewis Hamilton clinching his sixth world title. Hamilton won the Drivers' Championship at the United States Grand Prix, with the Mercedes driver 87 points clear of his nearest competitor and team-mate Valtteri Bottas. Verstappen could only manage third in the championship, but had a brilliant season for Red Bull Racing, winning three races in a campaign that was largely dominated by Mercedes. The Dutchman was the man to break Mercedes' winning run this season at the Austrian Grand Prix with a splendid performance and then just two races...
