Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas set the fastest time seen in testing so far to lead Lewis Hamilton on the final day of the first test. Valtteri Bottas has finished the first pre-season test of 2020 as the fastest driver. The Mercedes man used the C5 compound tyres during the morning session to clock a 1:15.732 – the fastest time seen during the week overall as well as half a second clear of the fastest time seen in 2019 testing. Bottas did a total of 65 laps during the afternoon. Lewis Hamilton was in P2 at the end of the day, despite having only driven in the afternoon session.
