ACM closes temporarily but still expects GP to go ahead

The Automobile Club de Monaco has temporarily closed its doors due to coronavirus but officials still expect both the Historic and Formula 1 grands prix to go ahead. The outbreak and spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus has had a substantial impact on motorsport, with a litany of events postponed or cancelled altogether. Formula 1 has cancelled Australia, postponed Bahrain, Vietnam and China, while the Netherlands and Spain are also hanging in the balance. The championship confirmed on Friday that it was targeting a start date of the end of May – with Monaco currently scheduled for May 24.
