Sam Bird: The nearly man of Formula E
Highly rated among fellow drivers and pundits, Sam Bird has been a mainstay in Formula E since its inception in 2014. Sadly for the Briton, he has not turned his performances in titles, but we look into the man who at his peak is unstoppable. Bird has always been quick in his junior career, although results did not show this, the London born racer finished 5th, 6th, and 2nd in his three years in GP2 sandwiched a successful 3rd placed finish in Formula Renault 3.5, along with driving for Mercedes in the 2010 Abu Dhabi young drivers test.
