Drivers raise $71k for WHO fund as Leclerc triumphs
A fundraising effort launched by a group of Formula 1
drivers has reached $71,000 after the conclusion of the final Race For The
World event on Sunday. On-track action has yet to begin in 2020 due to the ongoing
coronavirus pandemic and several drivers have taken to online gaming, streaming
their efforts on Twitch. A group of six Formula 1 drivers – Charles Leclerc,
Alexander Albon, Lando Norris, Antonio Giovinazzi, George Russell and Nicholas
Latifi – organised a series that took place over three days. Friday’s third and final event, using the F1 2019 platform,
concluded with Ferrari driver Leclerc finishing atop the standings, ahead of Luca
Albon, younger brother of Red Bull racer...
