Grosjean suffers no fractures but will remain in hospital overnight

Haas’ Romain Grosjean did not suffer any major injuries as a result of his heavy crash on the opening lap of the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday, but will stay overnight in the hospital. Grosjean was taken to hospital after he climbed out of his destroyed VF-20 car, which had split in two and erupted into flames at the Turn 3 exit of the Bahrain International Circuit. The Frenchman hit the Armco barrier at 221 km/h (137 mph), with the impact itself registering over 50G. X-rays from the hospital show that he sustained zero fractures in the accident, however he will remain in the facility overnight to be treated for burns on the back of his hands.
