The 2021 provisional calendar has been thrown into disarray before the start of the season, due to the postponement of the Australian GP and the uncertainty surrounding other races, including the one in China. The organisation involved with the Nürburgring has responded to this situation by announcing that it is open to hosting a Grand Prix in the short term. The classic circuit made a return to the Formula 1 calendar in 2020, and with success.
