Alpine team reveals launch date of 2021 charger

Alpine will reveal to the world its first F1 car under its rebranded identity - the A521 - in an online presentation scheduled for March 2. The French outfit will be looking to upstage the championship winning Mercedes team which will also pull the covers off its 2021 car on the same day. Alpine's new A521 will be entrusted to 24-year-old Esteban Ocon and 39-year-old F1 returnee Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard returns to the fray after a two-year hiatus from F1 but the two-time world champion's preparations were suddenly interrupted last Thursday following a cycling crash in which Alonso suffered a fractured jaw and a few broken teeth.
