Marko points finger at Leclerc for costing Verstappen pole

Article To news overview © XPB Helmut Marko has blamed yellow flags, caused by Charles Leclerc's spin, for costing Max Verstappen pole position for the British Grand Prix. The Dutch driver had set a purple Sector 1 when he came across a spinning Leclerc during Sector 2, forcing him to lift from the accelerator. That allowed Carlos Sainz to pounce with a late lap the claim his maiden pole position on his 151st attempt. "We were so dominant," Marko told Sky Sports after an intense qualifying fight at Silverstone. "There were yellow flags, so he had to go off the gas. That cost us pole position.
